At this year’s Baselworld Expo Oris watches unveiled their Oris Bob Dylan Limited Edition; a special edition of their Rectangular model.
On the stainless steel case back there is a portrait of Dylan, and his signature has been included on the dial. This tribute timepiece has been limited to only 3000 pieces worldwide, and the presentation set includes a Hohner Marine Band harmonica – the instrument for which Dylan is famous.
This elegant rectangular watch was created with Dylan providing input himself.
The black dial is subtly patterned, and has a date window at 6 o’clock. There are centre hands with superluminova for hours, minutes and seconds; an automatic winding movement with a 36-hour power reserve. The sapphire top glass is domed on both sides, and has double-sided anti-reflective coating. There is a see-though mineral glass protecting the portrait engraving on the case-back.
There is a black leather strap with a stainless steel folding clasp. Besides the harmonica, the watch comes with a wooden presentation box and a Bob Dylan greatest hits CD.
In 1965 Dylan appeared in a film clip for his hit ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’. This film clip is said to be the the forerunner of the modern music video, and can be seen on the Oris website.
Bob Dylan is world renowned for his creativity, both musical and artistic. This special edition from Oris watches is a fitting tribute to a multi-talented, living legend.
