Some appropriate festive news today from the Swiss watch manufacture that brings us Girard Perregaux watches. Girard Perregaux is not only known as one of the few remaining watch manufactures who produce their own movements, cases, dials and and all other parts for their luxury watches, each year they also host an unmissable Christmas Charity Ball.
This year the ball got the festive season in Monaco off to a great start on Saturday 12th December 2009. Some two hundred and fifty guests were invited to experience the magic of Christmas Girard-Perregaux-style at the prestigious Hôtel de Paris.
The patron of the ball was the principality of Monaco’s H.S.H Prince Albert II. And a host of leading figures and local and international celebrities were on the guest list. These included, the Italian singer Umberto Tozzi and his wife Monica, TV presenter Victoria Silvstedt, Marisa Bruni-Tedeschi, the Italian Ambassador to Monaco His Excellency Franco Mistretta, and Mr Franck Biancheri.
The Girard Perregaux Christmas Ball helped raise funds to support the Cardiology Department at the CHPG hospital and the Monaco Cardio-Thoracic Centre to assist in these organisations’ efforts to provide much needed surgery for young children in Africa with heart conditions.
