Of all the watch trends we’ve seen, the integrated bracelet sports watch is one that’s stuck around the longest. Whether it’s the Maurice Lacroix Aikon, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, or the Patek Philippe Nautilus, you’ll have likely spotted them in one of your favourite luxury brand’s catalogues, if not already having one strapped to your wrist. For Bremont however, the integrated architecture had yet to be tried out – until now. With the Bremont Supernova watch collection, the British watch manufacturer reinvents their iconic Trip-Tick case construction to include their first ever integrated bracelet.
The Case
According to Bremont, the steel case of the new Supernova was nothing short of a challenge. It took three years to develop and was manufactured within extremely tight tolerances by Bremont’s own in-house engineers and designers. The brand have also explained how they have had to invest heavily in a whole range of tooling and software development to advance new machining techniques and heighten the knowledge of their already well-experienced team. The result however was certainly worth it. The 40mm stainless steel construction is fashioned using the brand’s Trip-Tick case construction but with some clever changes largely seen in in the curves and angles. You can gain a lot of appreciation for the case when you look at the Bremont Supernova watch from the side, catching sight of the facets under the lugs and the gorgeous concentric lines which run down the central barrel of the middle case.
Having tried on the Bremont Supernova watches for ourselves, we can safely say it feels just as spectacular as it looks. The ergonomic design sits at only 11.1mm in height and thanks to the combination of brushed and polished effects, the light bounces off the case wonderfully. Allowing for much of this light play is the bezel, which fitted to the top comes with highly-polished sides and a vertically brushed top, rounded hexagon in shape. At 3 o’clock, there’s a fluted screw down crown decorated with the enamel propeller Bremont logo and protected by crown guards and beside it, a layer of flat sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment. The same glass marks the case back which comes with a 100 metre water resistant rating.

The Bracelet
Obviously one of the key novelties of the Bremont Supernova watch is the integrated bracelet. As mentioned in the introduction, this is the first time the British watch brand have utilised a true integrated strap like this and like the case, the design took several years to develop. It is largely characterised by its t-link construction, something entirely unique to Bremont. It combines stunning brushed surfaces and polished facets with an ergonomic structure that conforms perfectly to the skint. Bremont argues that the Supernova bracelet is more serviceable than any other steel strap due to the use of fewer parts and fine screws on every link. The bracelet secures to integrated lugs on one end and a butterfly-style deployment clasp on the other. The buckle is embossed with the Bremont propeller emblem.
The Dial
There are three Bremont Supernova watches to choose from: Midnight Blue, Pitch Black and Albus White. The Bremont Supernova Midnight Blue watch is the only one from the trio that neglects large Arabic numerals, instead opting for classic baton indexes for marking the hours. Meanwhile, the Bremont Supernova Pitch Black and Supernova Albus White utilise the classic numeral hardware alongside sword-shaped hands for the hours and minutes and a sleek red-tipped seconds hand. All three dials boast a raised section at the centre, a sunken big date feature, a dial ring with minutes track and a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. The indicator matches the red accents on the seconds hand with its own red markings to warn you when the 65 hour power reserve is getting low. As with most of Bremont’s instruments, the Bremont Supernova watches are generously decorated with Superluminova inserts on the hands and markers, this time with sporty blue emission.
The Movement
Another defining feature of the Bremont Supernova watch is its movement. When the Bremont Supernova was originally launched, it was joined by two other models called the Bremont Fury and the Bremont Audley as part of the Bremont H1 Generation collection. The series of watches marked Bremont’s first range of core offerings fitted with their ENG300 manufacture movement series. Like the exterior of the Bremont Supernova watch, the movement was designed and built to Bremont’s unique specifications in their ‘The Wing’ facility and tested under their H1 Timing Standard. The British brand compare this to the ISO3159:2009 Chronometer test promising extremely high levels of reliability and precision.
The Bremont Supernova watches are powered by the ENG375 calibre which delivers central hands for the hours, minutes and seconds, a big date complication at 3 o’clock and a power reserve indicator for displaying the 65 hour reserve at 6 o’clock. The movement also impresses with a silicon escape wheel, free sprung hair spring with inertia weight timed balance and KIF shock protection. Decoration for the movement is not spared either and through the case back of each Bremont Supernova watch you can admire the rhodium plated bridges including a gold-plated automatic bridge and the rhodium-plated tungsten rotor adorned with star-like openwork detailing and the Bremont logo.
