If you’ve been enjoying Premiership Rugby this season, you may have noticed the Citizen watches logo appearing around the stadiums and on your television screens.
Citizen is the Official Timekeeper of all Aviva Premiership Rugby matches, having announced a two-year sponsorship deal at the start of the 2014-2015 season. Working closely with the world’s most competitive domestic rugby union competition, Citizen is successfully using the partnership to engage with the rugby community and build its relationship with the sport’s extensive fanbase.
Citizen provides accurate and reliable timing to the games through the use of perimeter boards and stadium clocks at all Premiership Rugby games, as well as on screen during televised matches. The watch brand also sponsors the ‘Try of the Week’ and ‘Try of the Month’ competitions, and is developing educational and charity initiatives to support the sport.
Speaking at the start of the season, Mark Robinson, MD of Citizen Watch UK, said: “We are delighted to become an official sponsor of Premiership Rugby, and to be actively supporting the best of British sport. Citizen’s new brand statement ‘Better Starts Now’ represents the simple belief that no matter who you are and what you do, it is always possible to make something better – and now is the time to start doing it. We are confident that this principle will resonate with rugby fans, and with the clubs commitment to always improving their team’s performance.”
The collaboration will be celebrated with a range of limited edition Citizen watches, designed for Premiership Rugby fans and all those involved in the sport.
Dominic Hayes, Premiership Rugby’s Commercial Director, added: “There has never been a better time to partner with Premiership Rugby and we are delighted that Citizen are becoming our first ever Official Timekeeper. It’s great to work with a company that shares core values of innovation and competition and we look forward to the evolution of a long and successful relationship.”
Citizen watches are now available to buy at Jura Watches.
