Anyone remotely familiar with Breitling will know of the iconic relationship they have with luxury car manufacturer Bentley. To commemorate 17 years of collaboration, the pair have released the absolutely breathtaking Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner watch, a limited edition that focuses on the Bentley Mulliner workshop which since 1959 has created some of the world’s most impressive luxury tailor made cars.
Breitling and Bentley first started their partnership in 2002, both becoming infatuated by the other’s elegance and flair, obsession with performance and timeless design. Willy Breitling, founder of the Swiss watch brand, was also a dedicated Bentley owner and was always seen driving the Swiss roads behind the wheel of one of these cars. At the beginning of their partnership, Bentley was designing their iconic Continental GT and they commissioned Breitling to create an onboard clock that would reflect the prowess, performance and opulence of the new model. These values can also be seen displayed in the new Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition alongside its links to the Continental GT Mulliner Convertible.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, the Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner watch showcases a design worthy of both the Bentley and Mulliner names. It’s elegant blue, red and white aesthetic highlights the importance of British design while the powerful Breitling 01 (Manufacture) automatic winding movement upholds the reputation for Swiss precision. The sleek 42mm stainless steel case is fitted with a special plate engraved with a Bentley inscription with its design based on the engine spin dashboard once found in historic Bentley cars. Meanwhile, the exhibition case back is crafted from sapphire crystal glass allowing you insight into the movement and adjacent to another inscription that reads “MULLINER EDITION – BREITLING – ONE OF 1000”.
To honour the Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible, the Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition is fitted with a luxurious blue alligator leather strap which shares the colour of the Imperial Blue leather interior of the car. The smooth silver dial also reflects the aesthetics of the dashboard including complementary sets of Arabic numerals. The dashboard clock in the car only has the numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, while the watch has them at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, and 11. This charming pairing is a nod to the design DNA both brands share.
The relationship between the watch and the car continues throughout the dial including the bold red second hand and 60 minute scale around the edge which match the red stitching found throughout the interior of the Continental GT model. The sophisticated blue sub dials for 30 minutes counter and small seconds tie in beautifully with the blue leather strap inspired by the vehicle’s blue leather interior. Powering each of these functions is the legendary Breitling 01 calibre, a Swiss automatic mechanical movement which also provides central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds and a healthy power reserve of 70 hours.

We are still waiting for confirmation on when exactly the Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition watch will be released, but we know the retail price will be CHF 8,300 with a folding buckle and CHF 8,000 for the pin buckle.
