Breitling Superocean Heritage ‘57 Watches
Taking inspiration from the first Breitling Superocean to be released in 1957, the new Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 watch collection brings to life the 50’s and 60’s aesthetic with a distinctive concave bezel and oversized indexes. While based on a vintage design, the brand has also modernised the so-called Capsule collection, which implies that the watches will not be limited in numbers but will be produced for a limited time only.
One of the things Breitling is able to do so well is combine vintage style with modern mechanics and materials. This is proven once again with the Breitling Superocean Heritage 57’ watches as the bowl-shaped concave bezel is true to vintage form but engineered from high-tech ceramic renowned for its robustness and scratch resistance. The case design is almost exact to the original 1957 model measuring to 42mm in diameter only 9.9mm in thickness. Housed within and behind a decorated 100 metre water resistant case back is the Breitling Calibre 10 movement, which based on the Sellita SW 300-1, provides a power reserve of 42 hours.
Within the collection, there are stainless steel models presented with either a blue dial and blue ceramic bezel or a black dial and bezel. A third editions comes with a two toned stainless steel and 18 carat red gold case with black dial. Each version is then available on a choice of a vintage inspired calfskin leather strap on pin or folding buckle and a mesh style stainless steel bracelet with deployment clasp. The collection retails from £3,400.
Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition Watch
As reactions online have already proven, you will either absolutely love or absolutely hate the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition. Georges Kern, Breitling CEO, commented: “We designed the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition as a watch for people who want something a little out of the ordinary.” Its ‘extraordinary’ design showcases the exact same case, bezel, movement and functionality as the capsule collection but boasts a limited edition rainbow dial with Superluminova inserts for the indexes and markers coloured in yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red and orange.
Limited to 250 pieces and retailing at £3,590 on black leather and £3,990 on steel mesh bracelet, the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Rainbow Edition watch has also been purposely designed to match the colourful choice of Outerknown ECONYL yarn NAATO straps. These straps were unveiled earlier last year and are recycled from nylon waste which has been pulled out of our oceans.
Breitling Navitimer Automatic 35 Ladies Watches
The iconic Breitling Navitimer watch collection is given a modern and feminine finish with a new series of Breitling Navitimer Automatic 35 watches with 35mm cases perfect for smaller sized wrists. While still perfectly capturing the classic codes true to the brands DNA, the new collection seems to be more youth-influenced with minimalist case designs available in stainless steel, 18 carat rose gold or two-toned.
There are also a stunning array of dial variations to choose from within the new Breitling Navitimer 35 Ladies watch collection including white mother of pearl, sunburst blue, sunburst copper and sunburst silver. The dials are also available with or without diamond dot indices. Powering the classic hour, minute and seconds display is the Breitling Calibre 17 movement promising a power reserve of 38 hours and chronometer certification. The Navitimer Automatic 35 also provides an elegant selection of straps including burgundy, blue and brown leather and stainless steel, 18 carat rose gold and two-toned bracelets. The collection retails from £3,350.
Breitling Chronomat B01 42 Watches
Possibly the biggest launch from the Breitling Summit 2020 Webcast and one we most definitely will be covering in an in-depth review in the future, the Breitling Chronomat B01 42 collection continues the trend of resurrected models from history with a design inspired by a 1984 Chronomat. Although not an exact re-edition, the new collection takes on the classic with some sleeker design cues including a matching sized 42mm case with integrated lugs, robust shoulders and a rounded crown.
One of the most distinctive elements of the old 1984 Chronomat was the bracelet named the “Rouleaux”. This same bracelet makes its reappearance in the Breitling Chronomat B01 42 watch with a slightly more modernized and sleeker aesthetic. The angular, rounded links are truly vintage with polished bevels and a sleek profile which beautifully follow the lines of the case. The bracelet also features a concealed butterfly clasp with two security pushers on each side.
Like the original model, the new Chronomat watches showcase a unique bezel with interchangeable rider tabs at 15 and 45. This means you can choose whether to use them to count up or count down, as a pilots or divers watch or as a regatta timer or chronograph. The rider tabs also protect the sapphire crystal and make manipulating the bezel easier. The bezel is also complimented by an inner tachymeter scale, 30 minutes chronograph counter, 12 hours counter and date window at 6 o clock.
Once again we are spoiled for choice with a variety of dial colours and case designs to choose from. The Breitling Chronomat B01 42 watches are available in 42mm stainless steel, 18 carat rose gold or two toned cases with anthracite, blue, copper, black, silver or British Racing Green dials (the latter being a Bentley edition). The Rouleaux bracelet is also available in classic stainless steel or with 18 carat rose gold polished inner links. The collection retails from £6,650.
Breitling Chronomat Frecce Tricolori Limited Edition Watch
As part of the new Breitling Chronomat B01 42 watch collection, the Swiss manufacturer have also unveiled a stunning new Breitling Chronomat Frecce Tricolori Limited Edition which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Frecce Tricolori squadron. It is designed after the very same 1983 chronograph which inspired the new Chronomat collection with a stunning tone-on-tone blue sunray dial detailed with the squad’s insignia at 12 o clock and the same interchangeable rider tabs on the bezel.
The Breitling Chronomat Frecce Tricolori Limited Edition also features the legendary Breitling B01 automatic winding calibre with a 70 hour power reserve and chronometer certification, a 42mm stainless steel case and the distinctive Rouleaux bracelet. Retailing at £6,780 and limited to 250 pieces, the Breitling Chronomat Frecce Tricolori watch also features an exhibition case back, sapphire crystal glass and a water resistance of 200 metres.
