Guided by his expertise and unique talent, Emmanuel Dietrich has unveiled the newest addition to the small collection of organically-influenced masterpieces. The piercing Dietrich OT2-UK is a bold weapon – make no mistake about that! But the latest interpretation of “life forms” comes with hypnotic properties and delivers an extension of its designer’s passion for inventing tools and toys that bring pleasure to the senses.
Relatively affordable and working the “hexagonal look” with ease, the new breed from Dietrich watches keeps many of its family traits intact. Instilling the same attention-demanding design within a structural layout which offers resilience and functionality the Dietrich OT2-UK revisits what has brought the watch making company their undeniable success since birth. The 50 meter water resistant Dietrich OT2-UK is a special edition which adopts a stunning panda aesthetic, accentuating the power of a monochromatic design, using just white and black values to create a dramatic image. Both the bezel and the case frame are constructed from 316L stainless steel which has been blasted with micro-beads and coated in a black PVD treatment. For those of you who appreciate the more practical elements of time reading, the watch which showcases hours, minutes, small seconds and a 24 hour hand, also features Super LumiNova on the indices and hour indexes to aid the wearer in environments of compromised lighting . The sapphire crystal glass which shelters the exquisite dial from sun damage, scratches and dinting has also been treated with anti-glare properties to allow for clear visibility under all angles of light. At first glance you will also have noticed that the black PVD coated crown is sealed with a double O-ring and the case back is fully screwed and embellished with a unique engraving. Creating depth and a fresh dimension to the timepiece, the four layers which work synergistically together consist of a combination of sun brushed black finishes to the first and third skins and vertical brushed dark grey textures to the second and fourth. The 46mm Dietrich OT2-UK model is executed on a perforated tailored black leather strap with white contrast stitching that interacts with its black PVD coated buckle. The Myota 82-S-7 is a mechanical movement that you will be more than familiar with if you already own one or more of the Dietrich range. With an open view of the escapement dial, the skeletonised d
esign of the watch face allows for a rare and precious insight into the beating heart of the machine. The arrangement of the watch’s intricate tools echo founder, Emmanuel Dietrich’s connection to his beautiful surroundings. The balance between feelings, pleasures, forms and sensations effortlessly magnify the Parisian designer’s artistic scope, fuelling the concept of playful expression through simple forms.
