Introducing another collaborative masterpiece, British watchmaker Bremont and Williams Racing pay tribute to Williams’ impressive record of podium finishes over the years with the 244-piece limited edition Bremont WR-45 Chronograph watch. It follows in the footsteps of the Bremont WR-22 watch from last year but instead elects an all-black 43mm case and black dial and arrives with a genuine wheel nut sourced from iconic Williams Racing cars.
Bremont and Williams Racing originally declared their partnership back in 2021 with the announcement that Bremont was the new Official Timing and Watch Partner for the Williams Formula One motor racing team. It wasn’t until a whole year later however that their first collaborative timepiece was revealed with the Bremont WR-22 Chronograph and a special Bremont Williams Racing box set. Now the duo are back and are celebrating the number of times Williams has achieved races in podium over the years with a 244 limited edition design entirely decorated in black. The new Bremont WR-45 Williams watch’s attire also tributes the 2023 FW-45 car and in turn becomes the perfect fit for the drivers of the Williams Racing team including drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.

“The technological crossover between Formula 1 and precision watchmaking is substantial and the compelling collaboration between Bremont and Williams Racing has really taken the brand’s Motorsport Collection to a new level. It’s wonderful to see so much energy and interest in the sport today and we’re delighted to be part of its rich history,” Bremont CEO Davide Cerrato remarks.
Williams Team Principal James Vowles, adds, “The synergies between motor racing and high-end watchmaking are clear, not least of all in terms of the crossover in manufacturing skills and similarities in complex CNC machining to very high tolerances. With our British heritage it couldn’t be more fitting for Williams Racing to be partnering with Bremont, a brand based very close to Grove, and we’re excited to be releasing this latest addition to the range, named in tribute to the 2023 FW-45 car. Both firms are experts in precision engineering and bringing these two worlds together in this way is a really lovely celebration of British manufacturing at its best.”

Like the Bremont WR-22 watch from last year, the new Bremont WR-45 Williams Chronograph utilises the architecture of their sporty Supermarine watch with the addition of a tachymeter scale placed upon the bezel. The 43mm case is still engineered from stainless steel using Bremont’s Trip-Tick case construction but debuts a new black DLC coating which extends out onto the screw in crown and chronograph pushers, bi-directional bezel, lugs and pin buckle. The case is 100 metre water resistant and sits at 16mm tall on the wrist. When removed, you can enjoy a view of the movement behind the sapphire crystal exhibition case back.
If it wasn’t for some small yet distinguishing elements on the dial, the Bremont WR-45 Limited Edition would be entirely monochromatic. Flashes of electric blue, red and white, colours chosen from Williams Racing’s colour palette, are added to the black metal dial for a subtle burst of colour. The central chronograph seconds hand is decorated in red while the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock stands out in white with a pop of blue added to its hand. Small accents of blue are also integrated into the black sunken 12 hour counter at 6 o’clock which cleverly incorporates the date window at its bottom end. The 30 minutes counter sits at 9 o’clock and remains entirely monochromatic to match with the Superluminova coated hour and minute hands and applied markers.

Driving the Bremont WR-45 Williams watch is the automatic winding Calibre BE-53AV which comes equipped with 27 jewels, a Glucydur balance wheel, Anachron balance spring and Nivaflex mainspring. We’re also assured of a 56 hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800vph. As previously mentioned, you can admire the movement through the watch’s case back including the custom decorated rotor inspired by a Williams Racing car rim. Completing the Bremont WR-45 Chronograph watch is a black Alcantara strap and a black DLC treated pin buckle.
