To keep things interesting, TAG Heuer are constantly adapting and adding to their Connected smartwatch collection. Their latest instalment delivers a new watch face and two exciting case colourways for an undeniably elegant look. Let us introduce you to the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Bright Black & Golden Bright Editions…
TAG Heuer made history with the world’s first Swiss Made smartwatch back in 2015 with the original TAG Heuer Connected. The design, taking inspiration from the stylings of the TAG Heuer Carrera, boasted sporty integrated cases and straps, touchscreen displays and a mass of sports and health apps. Over the years, the collection has grown to include 45mm and 42mm case sizes and additional wellbeing and social features. The biggest evolution of the TAG Heuer smartwatch thus far occurred only recently with the launch of the Connected Calibre E4 collection. The series combines all previous technologies with a re-designed case, updated processor and improved battery life. The two new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Bright Black & Golden Bright Editions we’re looking at today share all of the same features as this collection, but instead opt for a new case colourways and a fresh new watch face.
The largest and stealthiest of the two is the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Bright Black Edition smartwatch which presents its 45mm grade 2 titanium case with a black DLC sandblasted coating. The black coating covers almost the entirety of the case including the case back, lugs and folding buckle while black ceramic is used for the rotating bezel. In brilliant contrast to this, elements of the steel crown, flat pushers and bezel are detailed with gold lacquer, attesting to its “Bright Black” name. The contrast between the black and gold not only looks nice but provides a touch of extra legibility. The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Bright Black Edition is completed by a black calfskin leather strap with a matching black rubber lining.
A resolutely elegant smartwatch, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Golden Bright Edition instead opts for a smaller, 42mm stainless steel case coated entirely in rose gold PVD. This is the first TAG Heuer smartwatch presented in full gold PVD and we have to say, it gives a really nice finish, nicely blurring the lines between a dress watch and a sports smartwatch. The gold boasts alternate brushed and polished finishing and extends across the crown, pushers and case back. Unlike its 45mm counterpart above, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Golden Bright Edition has little to no bezel but just beautifully smooth sapphire crystal glass flowing into the sides of the case – again attesting to its dressier finish. The design is completed by a black calfskin leather strap with red lining and a gold folding buckle with double safety push buttons.
Alongside the launch of the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Bright Black & Golden Bright Edition smartwatches, the Swiss watchmaker has also revealed a new watch face to match their golden aesthetics. The new smartwatch display is called “TONOS” and can be found in ten different colours, each adorned in golden indexes, hands and other complications. The rest of the specifications for these new releases follow suit to the rest of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 collection which you read more about here.
