Reinforcing their relationship with the world of motor sport once again, TAG Heuer have revealed another set of TAG Heuer Indy 500 watches. These highly anticipated limited editions are the product of the partnership between the watch manufacturer and the Indianapolis 500 motor race in America. Their collaboration has stayed strong since 2004 with TAG Heuer remaining the official timekeeper of the series.
The Indianapolis 500 is considered one of the most hair-raising motor racing events in America which sees drivers speeding as fast as bullets around the ring in a quest to get the best time. Not only are the pulses racing of the drivers that take on the course but the atmosphere within the stands is just as electric. Once again, TAG Heuer have done a fantastic job at personifying this feeling within the form of two Indy 500 watches.

Both of the TAG Heuer Indy 500 Carrera and Formula 1 Limited Edition watches are filled to the brim with stunning motor-racing inspired accents including the Indianapolis 500 speedway logo on the sub dials at 6 o’ clock and engraved onto the stainless steel case backs. Both models also come with sapphire crystal glass, black dials and rhodium plated indexes coated in Superluminova. Aside from that, they offer two beautifully different designs.
The TAG Heuer Indy 500 Carrera Limited Edition is the smaller of the two watches measuring to 41mm in size and coming in strong with a polished stainless steel case fitted with a fixed ceramic bezel decorated with a tachymeter scale. Powering the timepiece is the highly celebrated Calibre 16 Swiss made automatic movement which provides hour, minutes and seconds at 9 o clock, central chronograph seconds, 30 minutes counter, 12 hours counter, date function and a power reserve of 42 hours. To complete the Indy 500 Carrera watch, a black calfskin leather strap is added detailed with red stitching reminiscent of the colours on Indy 500 logo.
The TAG Heuer Indy 500 Formula 1 Limited Edition watch is perfect for those like to keep things simple and highly accurate thanks to the Swiss made quartz movement which promises almost perfect precision with a variation of only a few seconds per month. It equips the piece with hour, minutes and seconds at 3 o’clock, central chronograph seconds, 30 minutes counter, 60 seconds counter and a date function. Measuring to 43mm, the case of the TAG Heuer Indy 500 Formula 1 Limited Edition watch is also crafted from stainless steel and comes with a fixed steel and aluminum bezel decorated with a tachymeter scale. The case, just like the stainless steel bracelet is a fine brushed and polished finish for a final touch of sophistication.
